  • via Zante (neighboring island) , from the airport take a  taxi to Skinari (50 min) and from there is a ferry twice a day to Pessada to Cephalonia. (see timetable under: http://ionionpelagos.com/en)
  • or via Araxos (small airport 50km south of Patras, Peloponnes) and from there (Kyllini, Ilias) with ferry to Cephalonia. (see timetable under: https://www.levanteferries.com/en/routes/kyllini-zakynthos)
  •  ferry (just passenger, no cars) 3x the week starts from Corfu via Paxos, Lefakada, Ithaca, Cephalonia (Sami) to Zanthe on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.            Busse ab Athen:

  • KTEL (griechische Busfahrtgesellschaft) hat mehrmals täglich Busse die ab Athen nach Argostoli, Kefalonia fahren. Sie brauchen 6-7 Std inklusive der Schiffsüberfahrt (von Kyllini nach Poros oder Sami- Patras).
  • Die Zeiten sind  von den Fähren abhängig -und die werden erst kurzzeitig rausgegeben. Im grossen und ganzen bleiben sie sich aber ähnlich: täglich ab Athen um 09.00 und 14.30  und ab Argostoli um 06.30  und 14.30.  Den Fahrplan finden Sie unter:  http://www.ktelkefalonias.gr/en  Tipp: bevor Sie in den Bus einsteigen, sagen Sie doch beim Gepäckeinladen, dass Sie in Vlachata (unser Nachbardorf und gute 35 Fahrtminuten von Poros entfernt) aussteigen möchten. Von dort versuche ich Sie nach Möglichkeit abzuholen oder ein Taxi zu organisieren. Senden Sie mir doch eine Nachricht unter 0030 697 399 48 69.

Busses from Athens

– KTEL (greek bus service) has 2 or 3 busses per day which go directly from Athens to Argostoli, capital of Cephalonia. They come either by ferry via Kyllini to Poros (Cephalonia) or via Patras- Sami (Cephalonia).
Where: the buses are waiting on the large bus station Kifisou (or also Kifisos- Station)
How to get there: From the airport you will find the bus line X93, exit 5 from the airport

Tip: When you book the ticket via Kyllini/ Poros, just tell the man who puts your luggage into the bus, that you want get off at Vlachata, at the gasoline station. This small village is our neighbouring village (about 35 minutes from Poros). From there, I can arrange for someone to pick you up or order a taxi for you. Please let me know on 0030 697 399 48 69, also via WhatsApp and other messaging services.
And good to know: You wan`t find the schedule of the bus far in advance. Check it few days before departure and you will be fine!
